Cactus are left unharmed to enable repeated harvesting from the same plant. The mature leaves of the Cactus Plant were selected and cut without damaging the cactus itself. It grows with rain water and earth minerals which are rich in the City of Zacatecas (where the cactus were planted) therefore it doesn’t need an irrigation system which helps to save a lot of water. After cutting, the mature leaves were dried under the sun for three (3) days until achieving the exact humidity level and it again saves a lot of energy in the drying process. The ranch is fully organic as it has no herbicides or pesticides used. All the remaining cactus material not used in the process is exported and sold nationally in the food industry.
